Telling It The Way I See It

{October 23, 2010}   Regreting the Good, the Bad and the Ugly!

When one door closes, another opens. But we often look so regretfully upon the closed door that we don’t see the one that has opened for us – Helen Kneller

At some point in our life we all regret something. I, for one, have a list as long as my arm:

* Never telling my Grandad one last time how much I loved him

* Not telling my mum I love her everyday

* Letting go of the friends who truley cared

* Keeping the people who don’t care………

I could go on and on, but why do we regret? The quote above is perfect, but why don’t we all think like that? Noone puts a gun to our heads when it comes to making a choice, and it’s that choice that we live to regret…….so why make that choice??? Every path we take is down to a decsion, which path we take, and it’s that that makes us regretful. No person likes to admit failure, but making a wrong choice does sometimes lead us down the wrong path, but surely, all it means is we’re taking an alternative route through our journey. Regret should only come when we finish our journey. If there’s something we haven’t done or fixed then there’s nothing we can do about it then. But all the time we have to correct ourselves, get to the right path, why regret things.

I make myself laugh sometimes lol, cause I started thinking about this whilst watching The Wizard of Oz, and seeing Dorethy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion skipping down the yellow brick road. They all know there is something they want to acheive and yet they do everything they can, even facing the Wicked Witch to get what they want. At the end, they don’t have any regrets because they’ve done all they could to get the final result they want and that’s all it comes down to.

We regret anything we fail at, but all the time we have air in our lungs, the fat lady’s still singing (if you catch my drift).

So why waste time, dwelling on these failings, all we’re doing is wasting the time to get to the right path. Definatley easier said than done, but maybe if more people thought like this, then people would be happier and, cliched as it sounds, the whole world might be a happier place!

Just a thought ;)………………………….
